Common Questions

How do I schedule an appointment?

You may schedule an appointment in one of the following ways:

  • You can call us at (210) 294-4264

  • Send us an email at info@seekHOPE.net.

  • You can request an appointment by clicking here.

What happens at my initial consultation?

You will be asked complete any intake paperwork required by our office prior to your scheduled appointment. After completing and reviewing your paperwork, your counselor will meet with you to further discuss your concerns and answer any questions that you may have. Background history, as well as any medical or development history, may be gathered at this time. Upon sharing your story, you and your counselor will begin to develop treatment goals and discuss recommendations for follow-up sessions.

What if I have to reschedule or cancel an appointment?

Consistency is vital to achieving desired results in therapy. However, if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, you must call us within 24 hours of your appointment to avoid same day cancellation charges or no-show fees.

Do you offer any reduced fee services?

Yes.  We offer reduced rates that range from $30-$115 with one of our providers working on obtaining their hours for graduation or full licensure. Providers working to obtain full licensure are highly skilled and have already completed their Master’s Degree and have become a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFT-A) and/or a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A). Master's level graduate interns are perfecting their craft and being trained to provide quality mental health services. All interns and associates are supervised by fully licensed professionals by the state of Texas.

How will counseling help me or my family?

Seeking a psychotherapy professional shows your commitment to living a healthier, more productive life. Participation in therapy allows clients to find new ways to manage or improve social and emotional communication, build effective relationships management and conflict resolution skills, and improve overall functioning. In many cases, client's unique presenting concerns can be improved or completely alleviated.

What can I expect from therapy or related services?

Due to the uniqueness of each person's response to therapy, therapeutic goals and outcomes will vary depending on the individual.  Learning new skills and integrating new ways to deal with difficulties takes time. Our counselors see clients on a consistent basis during the first 3-6 months to build a strong therapeutic alliance and to create a healthy foundation for therapy. We will work together to gradually decrease your visits and discuss termination of our services once you have met your established goals.

How do I know that what we talk about will be private?

Confidentiality is one of the most important components between a client and their counselor, and your confidentiality is extremely important to us. To the degree allowed by law, information about your therapeutic contact with a HOPE Therapeutic Alliance provider will not be disclosed to any person or organization, unless you give us specific permission through a written release.  It's important that you understand that the laws of the State of Texas mandate exceptions to confidentiality in specific cases. Such instances will be reviewed with you prior to the start of your first session.

Should a third party, such as an insurance company, be paying for your counseling services, HOPE therapeutic Alliance may be required to provide a diagnosis, treatment plan, and/or progress notes to that third party in order to receive payment.

Additionally, there are special considerations to confidentiality when participating in couples or family therapy. Your therapist can only request the information shared during session remain private, but he or she cannot guarantee what information is shared by each participant.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. Please check our Fees page for a list of insurance companies that we are in network with. For insurance companies, that consider us an "out of network" provider, receipts are provided for you to submit to your insurance company for possible "out of network" reimbursement. The amount of reimbursement depends on the requirements of your specific insurance plan.
